Health and Safety Services To help you and your loved ones better prepare for emergencies, our life saving programs include classes in First Aid, CPR and AED, Water Safety, Workplace Safety, Babysitter’s Training, and Family Caregiving.
Disaster Services SInce 1917, the American Red Cross has been assisting people affected by disasters in Berks County. The support of our volunteers and the generous financial contributions of the people of Berks County make the successful work of the Red Cross possible. Find out how you can help local victims of disasters by joining a Disaster Action Team or taking Disaster Training courses. You can also learn how to keep your family and community safe through our Community Disaster Education programs such as Be Red Cross Ready.
Services to Armed Forces Find out what free services are available to members of the Armed Services and their families. Both active duty and community-based military can count on the Red Cross to provide emergency communications, emergency financial assistance, counseling and support services in the field where Red Cross workers are deployed to serve with the U.S. Armed Forces and at home to their families. Veterans Transportation Services We provide transportation in a Red Cross vehicle Monday through Friday to medical appointments at Lebanon VA Hospital. There is no charge for this service but due to the overwhelming demand, reservations are required.
International Services The American Red Cross sends hope and help in international crises such as earthquakes, hurricanes, famines, armed conflicts and many more. Youth Services Learn about programs and opportunities for young people in the Red Cross. The Berks County Chapter runs a Student Action Corps (SAC) youth group where young people in our community can learn the importance through active participation, in community service programs.
