Large costly disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes make the news—but most emergencies don't. A house fire or a loved one needing CPR may not be newsworthy, but they're a tragedy for those involved. In every single case, it is the mission of the American Red Cross to be there and help those in need—whether disaster strikes thousands of people at once... or one family in the middle of the night.

While large disasters capture the headlines, it is more important than ever to support your local Red Cross in their daily work. In just the last year, Red Cross chapters around the country have responded to more than 70,000 disasters, such as house and apartment fires.

The Berks County Chapter is training staff and volunteers in emergency preparedness and response, teaching first aid and CPR classes and delivering messages for members of the Armed Forces and their families.  Your contribution means that we can continue to provide these vital services.
